Changes At Home

Upon hearing the news that Jessie was coming up this week, my mother called me and asked if we could make space for her and her family to sleep at our house. We were planning on doing this anyway, but we expected the visit to be in November. We spent two days cleaning out our basement (it really really needed to be done anyway) and I'm proud to say that we can see 90% of the floor! The fireplace is useable again, now that it's not buried under a heap of useless . . . stuff, and I don't mind if the babies want to come down here for a few minutes. Amazing!

It turns out that Jessie isn't staying here after all. Misscommunication somewhere, I guess. So, last night, Sam set up his desk in the newly cleaned space and put his new computer on it. We moved the other computer down here, too (yes . . . I'm writing this from the basement)and now I have a music room that is entirely dedicated to just that!

But . . .

Sarah needs to move out of our room and can't move into Katie and Josie's room just yet. So I will be sleeping her in the music room for now until she can sleep a little better at night.

So, although we won't be entertaining the houseguests we originally thought we would have, we have gained a great deal of space and peace here. Now we only have two scary places in the house that need help.

Anyone need to sleep in my laundry room?
