When I was pregnant with the twins, I guess my uterus was so stretched out by this time that the muscles simply couldn't effectively contract. I never really felt any Braxton Hicks contractions, and when they induced labor I didn't feel a single contraction at all. I did have a kind of false labor with them where I would get a bad pain in my back for a few minutes and then it would go away . . . but that's really it.
Last night, I had my first contraction experience ever! It was rather interesting, and while it has scared Sam, I just looked at it as a learning experience. I had them consistently for about an hour every ten minutes. They didn't hurt . . . I just felt my belly get all tight and stay that way for about 2 or 3 minutes and then relax again. Then the baby would go kind of nuts until it happened again. We were sitting watching a movie while this was happening. Then I had to get up and cuddle one of my babies, and once I did that they went away. It was pretty cool!
Isn't it strange that I already have two children and have never had this happen to me before?!

I never had any contractions until I was in the hospital for more than 3 or 4 hours. And then, I'm sorry to say, I wimped out and asked for drugs. . .
