I did it.
I cut my childrens hair.
They didn't come out too badly, either!
It all started with Sam saying "Wow, Sarah. You need a hair cut!" She jumped up and down with excitement at the idea.
Finances being what they are, we can't afford to bring them to a salon, so I decided to give it a whirl. And now, Sarah has bangs and we cut a good six inches or so off her length. When I finished with her, she was so pleased that she was beaming. Katie said "My turn!"
Well, I wasn't planning on doing much to her hair, but she asked to have it cut short. So I took a deep breath and did it for her. And Josie asked for the same as Katie except just a little bit longer. So I did it.
We can no longer put Katie or Josie's hair up in a pony tail, but pig tails just barely work. Headbands are lovely, as are barrettes. And I'm pretty sure I just cut our hair washing time in half. I'll let you know later. And maybe, if I can figure out how to get them off the big camera, I'll even post a few pictures of them for you :)
Now, does anyone have any recommendations on how or where to learn more about cutting my childrens hair? This might become a common thing around here and I'd really like to feel like I have a clue!

I cut the kids hair, and my own too. I found a few videos on youtube that were pretty helpful. Just search and see what you come up with. The more you "practice" on your kids, the better you get. Good luck!
Pictures! Pictures! Btw, still looking forward to some of those pics from the weekend!
