Sarah loves to list things. I often get a run down of her current thoughts in numbered format. Here's an example from about 45 seconds ago:
"Mommy: I have three things to tell you. Number 1: I accidentally got my shorts dirty while playing outside. Number 2: I really love our bookshelves. Number three: I also really love Kissie Grandma."
Sometimes, she gives me her list using ordinals ("First of all, Mommy . . . and then second of all, . . . thirdly . . . , and fourth of all . . . " This can go on for quite some time!) Often, before I even have a chance to respond to her list, she's off to play. When she sticks around, though, she appreciates it when I wait for her list to be done and then address her thoughts one at a time, in order. She'll sweetly remind me what number 7 was, though, if I miss it or mix it up with number 8.
