Expecting

I'm sure you've heard by now, we're expecting a new baby! We're all very excited and the kids are loading me down with questions. Many of them I can field all by myself ( like "Will the baby just come out a baby and then when you name it either a boy or a girl name it becomes a boy or a girl or will it come out a boy or a girl and then you have to name it what it wants to be?" - Josie) and for the rest, we go to our lovely book "Your Pregnancy Week By Week".

Sarah has already started talking to the new baby, letting it know there's a whole lot of love out here waiting for him/her. She mostly refers to it as a girl and, to be quite honest, so do I, though I think it's mostly from habit rather than any instinctive knowledge. We were out shopping today and Sarah kept looking at people and then asking me "Can I let them know that there's a brand new baby growing in your tummy?" She finally struck up a conversation with someone while we waited on line and she skillfully worked that bit of information into the conversation, right after she let them know that Mommy let her get Pac-Man cheese. She amazes me, by the way. Everywhere we go, she works her magic and ends up with dozens of people wrapped around her little finger. We've actually had people seek us out again after speaking with her just to spend an extra moment with her. I'm not sure what her life has in store for her, but I have no doubt that her amazing way with people will be one of her great assets.

Back to the new baby: We're due the end of September, which means I'm at the VERY beginning of this journey. I did feel a little sick this morning, but nothing too bad. I'm trying out the Brewer Diet thanks to Jennie and aside from the challenge of eating that much food, I think it has a lot of potential. I'm pretty sure I didn't actually get sick this morning because of my protein intake right before bed.

Well, I think that's probably enough rambling for one night. I'm off to bed now, hoping to stave off the 3:00 pm exhaustion tomorrow. Sweet dreams!
