Nerves

Today is the day that everything finishes with Joe. I've tried to look back and see when I've posted about him in the past, but I just can't seem to find it. I don't think he has any idea about this blog, but just in case he does, I won't write too many details here.

The short of it is that Sam did some work on Joe's house a few years ago that Joe was suddenly unhappy with, and even though he had been exclaiming over the beautiful work that very afternoon, he fired Sam. He requested a refund of whatever deposit was not used and, since there was nothing left, Sam gave him copies of receipts totaling more than the deposit. At this point, Joe had been quite a nut already, so Sam told him not to worry about paying the extra money. He just wanted to get away from him.

Now, five years later, Sam is in bankruptcy court with Joe. Joe had sued Sam for three times the amount of the deposit and, because we got notice about it too late, he won it by default. So, late in 2005, with no other options left, Sam filed for bankruptcy. He is just now, today, finally getting his chance to tell a judge what happened! There is a lot in Sam's corner (I won't go into what exactly right now, but I do have to tell you about it all later. It's pretty funny.) and I have moderate to high hopes that it will turn out okay.

But I'm still nervous.
