He beeps in the driveway, letting us know he's in the car and ready to go. Children, in a confusion of arms and legs, scramble to the window. Faces pressed against the glass, arms waving wildly to be certain he sees, the children all wave by to Daddy.
He pulls out of the driveway and beeps twice in farewell. The children all shout "Beep, Beep, Daddy! See Soon!" With a final wave, he's down the street and gone for the day.
Though I always hate to see him go, I really do love this ritual!
