Household Wisdom: Traditional Homemaking Tips for Modern Living is quite a lovely book that allows you to feel good about the work you do and gives great ideas on how to make the things you already do work better! It contains recipes for keeping your kitchen windows from fogging up and for shining up your copper pots (mine just have copper coated bottoms on them) shining without having to buy special cleaners. It tells you how to handle different types of stains on different types of carpeting and in your laundry. The best way to keep your linen closet smelling great and moth free. (The solution for pantry moths takes a little over a month to get going. That's why I brought it up in my last post.) Lots of old tricks that seem to have gotten lost over the years.
It's a very lovely book and I highly recommend it.

I like Home Comforts: The art and science of keeping house. Jessie scoffed. It's great, though.
