Slow and Steady

The book "Slow And Steady Get Me Ready" that I recently mentioned is really great. Beckie commented that she had some trouble getting Angie to sit still for some of the activities and I can see where that problem might happen. But most of the things that we've done I've had fantastic success with. If they aren't interested in doing an activity right away, I start doing it by myself and pretty soon they are joining in. They've learned a few new skills and put some old skills to new uses. Katie and Josie love joining in with Sarah aged activities and Sarah is very entertained watching Katie and Josie do their games.

I don't think I can say enough good things. I'm only sorry I didn't get it sooner!

That's great! Beckie could maybe wait till one of those "teachable moments" when Angie is receptive instead of trying to force, so to speak, the game. By force, Beckie, I don't mean tying her to a chair and making her do the activity, just trying to force a learning moment when she's really into something else!

I was doing things with them before, but this book gives a very clear idea of what you are trying to accomplish and what you should be looking for to know that your baby is understanding and ready to do what you are asking. I really just can't say enough about it!!!
