Mistaken Identity

This morning, while getting Sarah out of bed, the twins saw an art print I have hanging in my music room/Sarah room (It's the image for November on my very prized Vettriano calendar).

After examining it for a moment, the decide that they know who these happy, madly in love people are.

"Mommy! Daddy!"

I'm pretty happy that this is how our kids see us!

Jennie once told me that Brenna mistook a picture of Audrey Hepburn for her. What a nice thing to know how your children see you.

I think that is the best thing children can see - their parents loving on each other. They feel secure then - knowing that their parents are happy, getting along, and truly love each other.

With divorce so rampant these days, many kids live in fear that their parents will get divorced - like Susie's parents, and Steve's parents, and Mabel's parents, etc.

Way to love your hubby in front of the kids, Sandie!

On a side note, I LOVE his pics and we're trying to save up to buy a poster and frame it of one of his paintings for our living room. They are so romantic, so I was suprised that my hubby likes them so much too!

About the picture...is it their anniversary? Did he just propose? or did he just come back from a long trip? Or is it just an ordinary day that he dressed up with flowers? I wonder at the story behind the image...

Beckie,

This is one of the things I love most about Jack Vettrianos paintings. They have such a universal message in them. That couple could be anyone, and they could be celebrating anything, or nothing. It's all about what you see. I adore his work!

He has another fantastic one that I love, and have a huge print of that needs a frame, called "The Singing Butler" and it's a couple dancing on the beach with the maid and the butler out there with them, one working the record player and the other trying desperately to keep the couple covered by an umbrella. The couple is oblivious to the worried look on the maids face and it's such a sweet expression of love all around!

He's got suitcases and flowers, but they are on a sidewalk, maybe the train station? He just got back from somewhere, me thinks. And that's about what Davey and I look like when he gets home! (Minus the flowers. And the overcoat. And the heels. Trade a duffel for the suitcases. And he's probably wearing a kevlar. But other than that, that's us!)
