Xylophones

Toy stores claim to sell them. Sometimes the box contains a real xylophone and sometimes it contains an imposter. Maybe the word "Glockenspiel" is too difficult to fit, or maybe they are afraid people won't know how to pronounce it, but they never use it.

Xylophones have bars made of wood. (That's why the word begins with "xylo-")

The instruments with metal bars are glockenspiels.

I just wanted to set the record straight.

I love the word Glockenspiel. I've been looking for one for the children for years, but I never find one that isn't just a toy. I want one that makes music. Any advice?
