I don't know if I'll have time to post again before I leave for the hospital, so here is my "farewell."
I'm just about done with everything that needs to be done here before I go, which is good, because time has just about run out to do it all. Sam started painting the new nursery yesterday and it's so nice to see something being done in there. There are still things left in the room, like the computer desk that I'm sitting at right now, the piano, and a few other things, but one corner of the room is empty and painted a lovely light yellow. It's a sweet, cheerful color and I'm looking forward to seeing the whole room that way!
Tomorrow morning, around 5:30, Mommy will be coming over to be with the babies. I have to be at the hospital by 6:00 so they can check me in and get me ready for the doctors to do their thing. The surgery is scheduled to start at 8:00 and, if all goes as planned, we should meet our little one about 20 minutes after that. I won't get to spend much time with the baby right away, because they'll spend another 20 or 30 minutes putting me back together and then I have to spend an hour in the recovery room. Hopefully right after that, though, I'll get to hold and cuddle with the newest love of my life. I have little butterflies in my stomach just thinking about it! (or is that the baby kicking? lol)
I'm a little nervous about the twins and how they will handle all four days. I'm sure they'll be fine at first. We did a test sleep over at Grandmas in January to see how they would do, and they seemed to do just fine, though they were pretty excited to see Sam and I again the following day. I bet I'll have more trouble than they will, being away from them for so long.
They can come visit me in the hospital, though, and they'll spend some time at our house during the day to play with familiar things and nap in their cribs, so maybe it won't be as bad for them as I'm imagining.
I'm feeling sorry for Sam, too, who will be running around all over the place, spending time with me in the hospital, with the babies at home or at Grandma's, and also, sadly, a little time at work! Yes . . . his boss is a little weird right now about time off. He's allowed 4 days. So for some of the time that I'm in the hospital, he'll be at work. I wonder if his boss has taken into account all the weekends Sam has worked? (Even this one. He's been there both days this weekend!)
In case I haven't mentioned it before, we've got names picked out. We will have a James Samuel if it's a boy and (I think Sam and I are on the same page with the girls middle name, but we've never officially said "Yes! This is the one!" so I'm not 100% sure) . . . Sarah Rose if it's a girl. The James is for Sam's father and for Uncle Jim, the Samuel . . . well you can guess. Sarah is just a pretty name we both really like, and Rose is in honor of Sam's Aunt Roselyn (spelling?).
I think that sums up the info I have at the moment. I'll try to get Sam to post some pictures of the new baby if he can!
Love you all!!!
