Since we began paying more serious attention to reading, my children have become insatiable readers. They are not satisfied if a sign catches their eye and I'm not quick enough to read it for them. Book after book is paraded around the house until a willing adult can be found to read it once, twice, ten times or more. The time we spend reading during our days has at least tripled and the stack of books that left the library with us this week was, to say the least, impressive. Even more impressive is that we've already been through all but two of them and we still have three whole days left until library day!
A new world has been opened up for them. They are, as always, curious about everything around them, from how the human ear works and what bats eat to how an airplane is built and where thunderstorms come from, and their new battle cry is "Lets put that on the library list!" Suddenly, their world is wider, filled with more possibility than they had ever imagined before.
It's an exciting ride to take with three eager little girls determined to make sense of their world.
