I'm Here

And I've been doing more than just making bread dough.

Sam and I have been working hard to diversify our company to try to ride out the construction slump. We've got a pretty full schedule right now (we have to write smaller on our white board to fit it all in!) and, though the projects are mostly small ones, they are the difference between sticking with it and giving up.

I've been working on two major things these past several weeks. The first is a completely new website for our company (this is version 3) which will be a much better face for first time visitors as well as a great place for homeowners to visit regularly, even if they aren't quite ready to purchase our services yet. A "do it yourself" section will help homeowners learn how to do some projects themselves to help them save money and it will be a place where clients can submit photos of their projects and let us know what they were able to do on their own. We will also be reviewing suppliers and getting feedback from visitors to help us choose companies we'd like to endorse and link to. There's more, but I'll let you discover it all when the new site goes live.

The other thing is Christmas presents. I've been making and planning and sewing and crocheting and baking and . . . well, I'm not telling what else. I've been going to sleep at 2:00 in the morning and waking with the kids at 7:00. It seems that 5 hours of sleep is enough to get me through the next day. I'm looking forward to finishing the website, though. Programming sure does eat up a lot of time. I find myself working though a problem while I'm playing with the kids or making dinner or sitting with my honey. Sometimes I'd like to just think about kids and dinner and my honey, ya know?

I'll try to write more often, but no real promises.
