Beckie has been posting about Angie waking up in the middle of the night . . . we are having some trouble with that, too . . . although I can't figure out a patter or reason! Last night, it was Katie. She woke up crying around 1:00 in the morning and stayed up until about 5:00!!!! I spent about and hour and a half trying to cuddle her back to sleep or any number of other things. She didn't cry that much, she was just very squirmy and unsleepy! Then Sam was sweet and took her out to the living room to cuddle with her on the couch. And he was up with her until around five in the morning. She wasn't hungry, wet, or anything else . . . and I would have attributed it to the long day out we had yesterday, but she's done similar things (or Josie has . . .) in the past when we've been home all day . . .
It also doesn't happen every night. Sometimes they sleep fine all night. Sometimes they both wake up in the middle of the night and sometimes its just one or the other of them. Usually I can snuggle with them in bed and they go right to sleep, but sometimes we have a night like last night when the baby just doesn't want to sleep!

I feel for you Sandie. I have no suggestions, because it appears that you're doing everything you can, but I really feel for you. I hope they begin settling down soon and giving you a little more peace and quiet.
Most people don't like to do this for some reason, but an uncranky, wide-awake baby can entertain herself in her own bed!
