This year for Thanksgiving, instead of trying to get to everyone's house on the same day for celebrations, we spread it out a bit, and it was wonderful! We spent Thursday celebrating with the Russell side of our family and it was a lovely relaxed day. Then on Saturday we went down to Sam's cousin Nick's house where we enjoyed a second celebration with his side of the family. The drive was a little strange, because the directions we got were not very clear and we added about 30 or so miles to the trip going the wrong way . . . But going home was much faster! We timed the drives pretty well, too! We went down during the girls morning nap, so the slept almost the whole way and woke up refreshed and ready to play when we got there. And we left just a little before their bed time so I sat with them for about 20 minutes while they snuggled off to sleep and then joined Sam in the front again.
Friday (in between our Thanksgiving celebrations) Sam and I went out for his birthday while the girls had a Grandma and Grandpa day. Actually, I have to say our day out was really for both of us, because I enjoyed it immensely! We went to lunch at our favorite restaurant in the city, which is not a place you can usually take two babies, because it's just a little bit cramped. And then we caught a movie. We haven't been to the movies together in quite a while and it was great.
After being out every day this weekend, though, we are both going to enjoy today, when we get to stay home and enjoy each other right in our own living room!

That's why I like our Christmas Celebrations better than Thanksgiving or Easter.. .Miguel's family celebrates Christmas on Christmas Eve, while our family celebrates on Christmas day. It makes it so much easier than having to choose where to go when and parcelling out your time. I'm glad you had such a thoroughly enjoyable time!!!
