Still Sleeping

She was nervous last night, to be on the other side of the room, her crib gone, the view changed. Her consolation was her proximity to her sister Josie, who promised to take care of her.

She laid her head on her favorite pillow (in her favorite pillow case), and snuggled her Curious George doll as I pulled her soft blanket up to her chin. She was exhausted from her long day and she only allowed her misgivings to trouble her for a few minutes before giving in to sleep. She didn't wake again until six in the morning to go potty. I thought for sure she'd be up for good after that, but instead, with just a quick extra hug before I tucked her back in, she fell fast asleep again.

It's almost 10:30 in the morning and she's still there, still breathing deeply, unaware of her surroundings, hugging her George, her mouth hanging open just a bit. I think, perhaps, her new toddler bed has afforded her the best nights sleep she's ever had!
